My "creating time" today was not without purpose however. I have three nieces with birthdays in the next week and a half, so it was time to get down to business and create some birthday cards for these girls. I have posted them all for you to see. I know you may not get really excited about these things, but I just love crafting. There is something very therapeutic about it. I call it "craft therapy". I think paying for a shrink would have cost me a lot less in the long run, but it wouldn't be nearly as fun.
I created each card with a specific niece in mind. The first one is for Alyssa. The second for Madison, the third for Hannah Banana. I just can't say her name without the Banana behind it. Most of the time I omit the Hannah part and just refer to her as Banana. Wow...I just thought of a whole other subject for a blog. Would someone remind me of this in a couple of weeks when my blog is so boring you can't stand it anymore? Tell me to do the history of nicknames in the Cripps family. You will enjoy this.
Okay, I have to get to bed. Five o'clock comes around pretty quick. I will leave you with
Carissa's Random Question of the Day
feel free to answer it for yourself in the comments section
Which would make you feel most appreciated? Your DH (Darling Husband) or SO (Significant Other) bringing your flowers, doing a chore without being asked or asking you on a "date"?
Well, since my DH does chores without being asked, and since I like flowers, but would rather shop, I would have to say being asked on a "date". I really love it when James plans something for just the two of us. If he were to arrange the babysitting, the dinner place, the activity...if he were to take the time and effort to do all of this, and we could spend an evening together, that would really be meaningful to me. But the catch is, he has to do all of the arranging. He can't just say, "Let's go out. Call a sitter and decide what you want to do." Oh, by the way, he did do this once!

Cute cards- you're right, crafting is very therapeutic. I used to paint... I haven't done that in almost a year and a half... I am really wanting to paint now...
It really is too bad that when you do things regularly trying to be helpful that it becomes the "norm" and no longer special. I guess I should be like the other husbands and not do much so that when I do, it could be "special". But then again, I don't do it for the special effect anyway. I do it because I love my wife and want to make life easier for her!
