I Don't Want To Grow Up...

"Cause if I did, I couldn't be a Toys R Us Kid."

In case you didn't know, I have a song for everything!

Yesterday was Saturday and we had nothing to do! Aaaahhh! I am starting to appreciate having nothing to do more than ever. However, my children have not learned the fine art of being bored, so to appease them, we left the house and headed for Toys R Us. Grandma the Great had given them all twenty dollars earlier in the week and they just couldn't wait to spend it. We considered other options, Adventure Park, Chuck E. Cheese, etc., but I felt lacking in patience and decided this could be done rather quickly and they would be entertained once we got back home. Home sweet home. Another benefit of this little trip was that there are several birthdays approaching and I needed to get gifts. The presents are now bought, wrapped and have bows on them. It feels so good to have something done in advance. Did you know that I have an obsession with having things done in advance?

Anyway, we got to Toys R Us and the excitement and schizophrenia started. Bouncing from object to object, "I want this. No, wait! I want this." This is a good learning experience by the way. They learned that they couldn't go over the twenty dollar limit. Elliot picked a Disney Princess play pack at first and some My Little Ponies, but put them back to purchase a Little Pet Shop Castle and appease her love for all things tiny. Preston knew exactly what he wanted. He went straight to the games and picked out Star Wars for his Nintendo DS. Natalie, however, took the longest. She contemplates everything. She took sooooo long. In the end, she ended up with two different Bratz dolls, a fairy princess and something else.

After choosing their toys, we headed to KFC to eat, got a car wash at Auto Oil Changers and headed home. Home sweet home!

Elliot's quote of the day

"If you get the hiccups, you will puke. And if you choke, the puke will come up again."

Don't ask me where she gets these things. We weren't even talking about hiccups or puke when she made this statement. Oh to know the mind of a three year old!
