Well, the Tooth Fairy had to make a little visit to our house today. Preston lost a tooth today. It has been loose for a little while now and the boy finally reached in and yanked it out today. I wasn't scared of that stuff when I was little either. I remember tugging and twisting at teeth until they came out. This is the second tooth that he has lost. Both times, I have missed it. The first tooth he lost when James and I were on our cruise in June. When he lost his tooth today, I was in class. And, both times, he has yanked them out himself.
Natalie is a different kind of tooth loser on the other hand. You can't even wiggle her tooth when it is loose without her totally freaking out. I have asked her if I could pull them for her and she absolutely refuses. A couple years ago, she had a front tooth that was just dangling for weeks by a tiny thread of tissue. When that one came out, I was so happy. Natalie usually loses her teeth when she is eating...they stick in her food and come out.
Elli now thinks that she is supposed to lose her teeth. There's nothing like seeing a three year old try to wiggle her little chiclet teeth out. My fear is that she will actually manage to rip her teeth out before they are ready to come out.
And since we are on the subject of teeth, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow. I have had a silver crown on one of my molars since I was very young. The tooth has grown since I had it put on and the bottom of the tooth is exposed. My dentist has been wanting to replace the crown for a few years now, but it just hasn't been convenient. Tomorrow I will go see the dentist and have the crown replaced. I am actually kind of excited, because he is going to replace the crown with a white porcelain crown. No huge silver tooth in the back anymore!! Yay! You have got to love modern technology. He is actually creating the crown to fit my tooth right there in his office while I wait. How cool is that?
I am sure that I will have some weird dreams now about losing my teeth or something. I guess that would actually be a nightmare for me. I spent five and a half years in braces, so my teeth are very important to me.
Oh and in case you were wondering, the Tooth Fairy left a five dollar bill for Preston. Gone are the days of a nickel or a quarter!
I am going to sign off now! I have got to go watch Grey's Anatomy.
