Has it really been a whole week since I last blogged? I can't believe it. But here I am again.
I know I promised pictures of Halloween, and I am here to deliver. Better late than never right? We went trick or treating near a friend's house this year. The kids have more candy than they will possibly eat. But they had a wonderful time and that's what counts right? On a last minute whim, James and I decided to dress up. James went as a Raider fan (tattoo, white t-shirt, bandanna) and I was a rock star (pink hair, leather pants...you get the drift).
I didn't blog last week because I was so busy getting things for our ladies retreat done. We left Friday morning and headed to Mandalay Beach Resort in Oxnard, California. It is a beautiful place, right on the ocean. We had crummy weather the whole time we were there though. It was overcast, foggy, damp and very cool. I had a wonderful time though. You put twenty women together and there's no telling what might happen.
We had some great teaching via video presentation from Beth Moore. This is the first time I had heard her and she is an excellent speaker. I feel revived, refreshed and renewed. I think all of the women really feel like God spoke to them over this weekend. I know I certainly did.
And what would a retreat be without a little shopping? I found a couple great pairs of boots...snakeskin leather, over the calf height, stiletto heels. They are, in the words of my roommate Julie, "totally me". Nothing says Carissa like a pair of four inch spiked heels with hints of gold and some sort of animal print!
I had to include my favorite picture from the retreat. This is of our fearless leader Karen, a.k.a. Pearl Mini from Frogholler. She was the water bottle player in the "Mini Family" praise team tryout. This was all for our "NO TALENT" talent show. It was a riot! I can't tell you how funny it was! My submission was frightfully less entertaining....so without further ado, Karen's picture....
Oh, Karen, you will never live this one down!
