Yesterday was the kids' first day in all day care. Elliot is now going to preschool all day on Mondays and Wednesdays and Preston is going to the kindercare program at the preschool after he is done at kindergarten for the day. It was really stressful for me. I have never put my kids in "care" and I am really struggling with having to do it, but my school schedule left me with no other option. Hopefully I will only have to do this for the current semester. They seemed to do okay. Preston ran up to me when I came to pick him up and he hugged me and said "Mommy, I missed you." At least they were happy to see me. After their nap at school, Elliot was having an emotional breakdown, so they allowed her to go to Preston's class. I think they will adjust. I managed to stay busy all day though. I got so much done! I couldn't believe it.
James and I have a new show to watch on Monday nights. American Gladiators is back on the air. I used to watch it when I was younger....about 10-15 years ago. They have brought it back and we were both excited to see its return. I have decided that I am going to train and become "Big Red", the next female American Gladiator. Okay, not really, but if I were 8% body fat, I think I would totally do it! I asked James if he thought I should drop out of school to become a gladiator and he didn't think that was a great idea. Oh well, I guess there is better job security in nursing. I guess a girl can dream!
Speaking of television, I am really ready for the writers' strike to be over. The last written episode of Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursday night. I don't know what those writers want, but television is greatly suffering because of it and I think if the networks were smart, they would give in to the writers and give them what they want. I want my shows back! While I really like reality television, I love my dramas as well.
Carissa's Random Question of the Day
What do you think about the writers' strike? Has it affected you at all?
