Studius Interruptus

Today was set aside for studying, which has proved to be difficult with children running under foot. If I had a dime for every time my kids have interrupted me today, I would be one rich woman. This morning, Preston had school. After I dropped him off, I thought I would get try to get some quality studying in while it was just Elliot and myself at home.

Elliot's interruptions are always very predictable and demanding. She is constantly in need of something to eat, something to drink. She will also go to the bathroom and yell until you come and wipe her booty. Then her usual whining was intensified when...heaven forbid....we ran out of Sunny Delight. It was just about time to go get Preston, so we left early to head to the grocery store to replenish the fridge with Sunny Delight.

Then Preston came home and the interruptions multiplied. I did get a good bit of studying done while they took a nap. Preston woke up with a sore toe. So, I had to cut his toenails. Then he needed something to drink. Then he needed help wiping his booty...and he ran out of toilet paper. Pair this all up with his endless questions and it's impossible to get it all into my brain for a final at 7 a.m. tomorrow.

The solution? I sent Preston to Natalie's game with James, so I am down to just one child again. I am not cooking dinner tonight...it's frozen burritos or hot dogs. So, it's just me and Elliot and she doesn't seem so interested in the Atrioventricular Node or Ciliated Psuedostratified Columnar Epithelium...imagine that. I think I have convinced her that I am not doing anything that she really cares about and she is in her room playing with all her tiny toys.

So why am I sitting here blogging? I better run.
