Well, I just finished my third paper for my history class. Whew (sigh of relief)! I am so glad to have that done. I send them off to my lovely friend Jennifer for proofing. She was my roommate during my short stint at Chapman University in Orange, California. She graduated with her degree in English. I don't know anybody more qualified to proof read my papers for me. The great part is that she insists she doesn't mind. Who knows, I might teach her a thing or two about history. (I seriously doubt that.)
Also, for those of you still held in suspense by the laundry situation, it is done. I mean, really done! (Insert another huge sigh of relief here.) I finished up loads nine and ten yesterday. I am currently soaking a pair of white shorts that I squirted mustard on. I have pretreated them several times with all sorts of different stain treatments and still have had no success with the awful yellow stain that sits inconveniently close to my zipper region. If you have the miracle cure for mustard stains, would you please let me know. You should post it in the comments section of my blog so that everyone will know the magic potion! By the way, I tried bleach and it started turning it pink!
I am ready for the weekend! The laundry is done, my homework is caught up and I am having a pedicure in the morning. I should be feeling really good tomorrow about 10 am, barring any major upsets. I am really ready to have a wonderful weekend. My oldest brother, his wife and my adorable little nephew are coming to town and I am looking forward to seeing them and loving on that baby! We will all be attending the Jason Cain benefit Golf Tournament on Sunday to support a long time friend of the family in his recovery from a brain infection. His recovery has been truly miraculous and we are so happy to hear that he is recovering so speedily.
Preston's new teacher has now implemented the coin reward system. He has come home from school twice this week with his "good behavior" coins. He seems to have adjusted to his new class. I was really concerned about such a big change, but Preston is a great student and has done well. He really loves homework. He constantly pressures me to do homework. I think he may be a little like his mommy. He loves to learn and is highly motivated to do well in school.
I have a really great quote from Elliot for today, but it requires a little bit of explaining. At dinner, we were discussing what Elliot's quote of the day should be. She hadn't really said anything terribly cute, so my mom and I started to probe her, hoping to evoke some sort of cute response. We began to ask her about her boyfriend, who she told us a couple weeks ago was Elijah. She told us she didn't have a boyfriend. I said, "What about Elijah?" to which she responded
"I lost it! Huh--lllloooo. I'm talkin' to you." (Think super cute valley girl talk...like totally.)
