Random Tuesday Ramblings

Tuesday is Bible Study day and this week, I made it! My car battery didn't die (if you'll remember, that's what happened last week). I was so relieved when I got there without major challenges this morning, I almost broke into tears. I was literally so relieved that my morning went smoothly and I just felt God when I walked in. I really enjoy BSF and Elliot was so disappointed when we couldn't go last week. Her BSF teacher said she did really well today, which is a vast improvement from last year. The norm for last year was to find her sitting in time out with Mrs. Grauman when I came to pick her up.

I had promised Preston yesterday that we would have scrambled eggs for lunch today. I don't like to have to drag out all the stuff to make scrambled eggs every day and yesterday I really wasn't up for cooking anything for lunch that couldn't be done in a microwave. When I make scrambled eggs, I use a bowl to beat the eggs. I don't like it when you just mix them up in the pan, they have to be beat in a bowl. I also add hot dogs to my scrambled eggs, so I have to use a knife and my little mini cutting board. Today, I kept my promise to Preston and made him scrambled eggs. He loves scrambled eggs! When I make scrambled eggs for him, I make them for me too. If you are going to get the dishes dirty, you might as well make enough for everyone!

After lunch, Preston worked on his homework. It is amazing to me how quickly children learn. He can read all the letters of the alphabet. To put it in perspective, the teacher will give them a prize when they can read 13 letters. He can read all the letters, both upper and lower cases. He also does very well with patterns. When I looked at the homework page, I thought he wouldn't be able to do it, but he did it without any help! I am really amazed. I really appreciate his eagerness to learn.

Carissa's Random Question of the Day
Are you registered to vote?
I am absolutely registered to vote. I am registered as a republican voter, but would not vote republican just for the sake of voting republican. I do have to say that I have never voted for a democrat though. I think it is important not only to register to vote, but to participate in the government by actually voting. You see, it doesn't really do much good just to register. I usually vote by absentee ballot. Have you ever tried to drag two kids to a polling place? Most people act like you are in a library. I always feel like you are supposed to be really quiet at the polling place and a three year old doesn't often see the need to be quiet, but usually insists on running circles around you or crawling beneath the tables.

I'm a registered Repub too. I just don't think that Jesus would've been liberal... Anyways- I found a Repub Presidential Candidate that I really like- Mike Huckabee. You ought to Google him and find videos of his debates- he seems to have the right stand on every issue.

Hi Carissa, Jacque and I are both registered voters and vote republican. We always research our candidates and their stands. I agree with Tim, I don't think Jesus would have been a liberal!:)
