I know I have been gone for a bit, but I am back. I am a very busy gal you know.
The title of this entry is inspired by my role at home for the last few days. I have felt like such the referee. I am constantly breaking up fights between the two little ones. It is unbelievable. Both yesterday and today, I put them down for naps because I had enough. They scream. They yell. They hit. They get on top of each other. They do everything they can to get on each others nerves and they can really drive you mad. I am going out to buy a whistle and a striped shirt, because I have officially changed my title from "Mom" to "Referee."
Tonight is Wednesday night and that means church. Wednesday nights is the night I practice with the Sparks (ages 5-10). I am the Sparks music teacher. Every month we have a performance on the last Sunday night of the month. These kids are doing such a wonderful job. They love to sing and we always add some "moves" to our songs as well. These aren't you average, run-of-the-mill kids' songs. They rock and so do the kids! In case you didn't know, I am a rocker girl at heart! I love some heavy guitar and when we can use it to praise the Lord, it combines my favorite things into one! The kids and I get to rock out, dance and sing together! I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I have become attached to the kids and how much I am enjoying it!
I am so looking forward to the series premiere of Private Practice tonight. Will you be watching it too? And tomorrow Grey's Anatomy premieres! I am on overload. I can hardly stand the excitement!
Elliot's Quote of the Day
"There's something in my nose. This side can't smell."--she has allergies too!
"Darkness, Preston. THIS is darkness."--Elli said this as we pulled out of the garage last night after dark.
Carissa's Random Question
How much product, if any, do you use in your hair in the morning?
I am a product girl and my hairdresser insists that's why my hair maintains its health. I use shampoo and conditioner of course. Once I get out of the shower, I use styling mousse and a product by Tigi called Uptight curl enhancer (crazy since my hair is straight, but it gives extra hold and control when I blow out my hair). Once my hair is dried and straightened, I used Rubberizer (a styling compound for texture and shine) and then hairspray on my bangs.
