The Exeter Fall Festival parade was yesterday. Little Lambs Preschool (which Preston attended last year and Elliot attends this year) always has a float. This year, the float was Moses parting the Red Sea. It was a little disappointing that the weather wasn't better. It had rained Friday, and it was still very cool and overcast on Saturday. Elliot was definitely the cutest little one on the float! She was smiling and waving like the beauty queen that she is. I have no idea where she gets that from (wink, wink).
Before the parade began, James ran to the donut shop and brought us donuts. Preston chose a sugar coated donut and he had sugar all over him. He didn't eat the whole thing, so when Elliot rejoined us after her parade duty, she ate the rest of it. She had sugar all over her face as well. I have to admit, it was pretty adorable.
Our friends Manuel and Rachel joined us with their kids, Elijah and Ava. We had a really great time. We quickly realized however, that you cannot send a two year old and a three year old into the street to get their own candy. For them, it's all about the candy and they forget that another car or float is on its way. Manuel was on top of it though. He was quick to get them wrangled out of the street before they were just a spot for the street sweeper to clean after the parade.
Preston has fall intercession this week (this means he is out of school all week). I am in the process of finding places for him to go while I go to school this week. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be if you work full time and you have to find childcare for a week right in the middle of the school year. I really think all schools should operate on the same calendar. Unfortunately, James teaches in a different district than Preston's school. All of the breaks for Christmas and Easter start and end at different times and James doesn't get fall intercession. It just makes things so complicated.
I Hate It When...
The Raiders win!
I just really don't like the Raiders. I am sorry if you are a Raiders fan and this totally offends you, but I just really don't like the Raiders. By the way, the Raiders are losing right now! I'll cheer for anyone just to see the Raiders lose.
Elliot's Quote of the Day
"You're a nice mommy."
She finally told me I was nice instead of mean!
