Catchin You Up

Okay, I have done a lot since I last blogged....so here I go.

On December 21st, we went to Roller Towne with our church. We rented out the whole rink. The kids had a blast. James and I even skated. Preston was a little unsure at first, but by the end of the session, he was skating like a pro and wanted to return for his birthday.

On December 23rd, we went carolling to some of the shut ins from our church. We took the kids with us and had everyone over for cookies afterwards.

Christmas Eve was spent at Harroll and Nadine's opening gifts and having our traditional ham and enchiladas meal. Harroll and Nadine (my in-laws for those who don't know) are the only people that I know who eat ham and enchiladas at the same meal and also serve mashed potatoes with them. We also opened gifts on Christmas Eve at our house. The kids got a trampoline from us and Santa came early because he knew that Natalie had to go back to her mommy's house. We also dropped by Grandpa and Grandma Wiley's to open gifts and visit with them.

Christmas Day was spent at my mom's house. We had prime rib for Christmas dinner. I don't like prime rib and there was supposed to be ham, but that got nixed. I had to fill up on green bean casserole and bread. My brothers and niece and nephew were there and so were both of my Grandma Thelmas. Yes, I have two Grandmas named Thelma.

On New Year's Eve, we went out with Rachel and Manuel. What a horrible outing this turned out to be....not because of the company, but because of the restaurant. We went first to Cool Hand Luke's because we really wanted a steak, but they told us it would be a two hour wait, despite the fact that they had told us 3o minutes on the phone. So, we headed to Big Bubba's Bad BBQ instead. Big Bad Mistake is what that was. We waited an hour for a table and then waited over an hour and a half at the table and still had not been served. The had the last call at the bar and we still didn't have food. Manuel complained and we didn't pay for our meal, but we didn't eat either. It was 9:40 and they boxed our food up for us to take with us....but who can eat that late at night? We went home and went to bed.
Preston turned six today. He is officially legal to ride in a car without a car seat! Yay! He wanted to go to Roller Towne for his birthday. I took him and two of his friends on Thursday. Last night, we had a small family party here at the house.

So, that's pretty much the short version of what has been happening. The kids and James go back to school on Monday. Preston will start the kindercare program and Elliot will be in all day preschool beginning Monday. I go back to school on the 14th. I am very nervous about the anatomy class I have to take this semester. I keep hearing how hard it is. Time will tell.
Oh yeah. I also redecorated my bedroom this week. I love the new look.
