Did you know that is California's state motto? Anyway, it means "I have found it." And today, I did just that. I found the shamrock shake I was craving. It was right here all along in Exeter at our very own McDonald's. In fact, a couple of people asked me as I was going through the drive through, "You like shamrock shakes?" I couldn't contain my excitement, and I had to share with them my quest that began yesterday in Visalia. So, I had a shamrock shake for lunch today.
I also had my nutrition class today and I really have a bone to pick with some of my classmates. The teacher goes through the assignments one by one, collecting the work for the entire month. For instance, she'll say "Chapter four study questions" and everyone passes up their chapter four study questions. This should be a relatively quick, painless experience. At least, I think it should be. But, every moth there are at least five people on every assignment (keep in mind, we are turning in about 8 assignments) that haven't stapled their pages together. The rest of us have to wait as those who seem completely unprepared, wait for them to pass the stapler around and staple their pages together. There's really no excuse for this and it really is a waste of every one's time.
If their excuse is that they don't have a stapler, I have two solutions to that. Solution one is to buy a stapler. How much can a little cheapy stapler cost? Solution two is to use the stapler that is in the library. They actually have one in the library that you can use. It is one of the "perks" of being a student. They let you use the stapler! You don't even have to ask for it. It sits out in the copy machine part of the library. Imagine that!
Can you see what I am saying? There is no excuse! The format of this class allows us to leave after the homework is collected and we are done with our test. Usually, we get done earlier than the scheduled time. I really just want these people to be responsible, get their work done and have it ready to turn in when it is due so that the other 95% of us aren't waiting on them to staple their papers together. Is that too much to ask?
Now that I have gotten that off of my chest I feel much better. The weather is great today and I decided to hand wash my car with the kids in the driveway after I picked them up from school. It is shining like a new penny. I even used Armorall on the tires, running boards, bumpers, door handles, mirrors (of the exterior) and on the dash and doors inside. My car is ready for the weekend. I love a clean car! I got it all vacuumed out and decluttered. You can't imagine the amount of papers that build up in a few days with children around.
Natalie has her first baseball game tomorrow and I am looking forward to watching her play. She is one of two girls on her whole team!
I hope you all (all two of you who actually read this, okay there are three of you) have a wonderful weekend!
