V is for Victory

We went to my DH's parents' house today after church for lunch. After pitching to the kids and playing catch for a while, my DH and Doug (his brother) decided that they would like to take on my father in law and me in a game of wiffle ball baseball. After marking the boundaries and deciding on the rules (which seemed to multiply as the game went on) it was time to play ball. The final score? 3-1, Victory for the girl and "more mature" gentleman! They really believed that it would be no problem to beat us. In fact, they made a five run limit as a "mercy" rule for us, that way they couldn't run up the score more than five runs per inning. Boy, did they ever get it wrong!

It's been a busy weekend. My DH needed a card made for a gal at his work who is leaving for maternity leave soon. They are having a shower for her on Monday at school (a shower which my husband planned, and they say he isn't a sensitive guy!). I had to make it a large enough for the entire math department to sign. Usually my cards are 4.25x5.5 inches. This time, I made a 5x7 card. Here is what I came up with!

This is the card and some detail shots of the different elements are below. I actually made that tiny little hanger myself!

We are also very proud of our little grapevines that we planted a couple months ago. They are sprouting up quite nicely and we even have a couple tiny little bunches of grapes! And all this time we thought we had a brown thumb! It turns out it just may have a little green to it after all!

I have a busy week ahead of me. I have a huge test in anatomy again this week. I have been studying on and off this weekend, so I expect to be very prepared by Wednesday when we have our test!

Well, I have to shove off and get to church for music practice. You can't very well practice the music without a piano player now can you?
